Electric Cylinders with ISO 15552 Mounting Interface
Precision Electric Linear Actuators for Industrial Automation
ISO 15552 Electric Cylinders with Pneumatic Compatibility
Universal Power Conversion (UPC) offers electric cylinders with ISO 15552 mounting interfaces, designed to provide precise, repeatable linear motion while maintaining full compatibility with standard pneumatic cylinder accessories. These electric actuators allow manufacturers to transition from pneumatic to electric motion control without redesigning existing mechanical layouts.
Engineered for accuracy, rigidity, and long service life, these electric cylinders are well suited for applications requiring controlled positioning, high load capacity, and dependable performance in demanding industrial environments.
Explore ISO 15552 Electric Cylinders
UPC supplies electric cylinders that combine the familiar form factor of pneumatic cylinders with the performance advantages of electric actuation. With multiple motor options, mounting configurations, and anti-rotation versions available, these cylinders can be tailored to meet a wide range of automation requirements.
Our automation specialists are available to help you select the correct motor type, drive system, and mounting accessories for your application.
Electric Cylinder Overview
These electric cylinders use a hardened and tempered screw paired with a ball recirculation nut, ensuring high precision, smooth motion, and long-term reliability. The piston rod is engineered with an increased outer diameter and wall thickness, providing exceptional rigidity and resistance to radial and peak loads.
An integrated screw and nut lubrication system ensures consistent performance and extended service life, even in high-duty-cycle applications.
A version with a built-in anti-rotation system is available. This design uses two opposing pads that slide along longitudinal grooves machined into the cylinder sleeve. These grooves also accommodate sensors, while a magnet integrated into the piston enables accurate position detection.
Key Features & Benefits

Motor & Drive Options
These electric cylinders can be equipped with motors selected from an optimized range, including:
-
Stepper motors
-
Brushless motors
Available drive configurations include:
-
In-line motor versions, where the motor shaft is directly coupled to the screw
-
Geared motor versions, using pulleys and a toothed belt to transmit motion
Compatible motor drives are also available to ensure optimal control and performance. Upon request, custom flanges and adaptor couplings can be manufactured to accommodate customer-specified motor brands.
Applications for ISO 15552 Electric Cylinders
These electric cylinders are ideal for automation systems requiring precision linear motion and robust mechanical performance, including:
-
Assembly and production lines
-
Packaging and material handling systems
-
Industrial tooling and fixtures
-
Pick-and-place applications
-
Pneumatic-to-electric retrofit projects
Important Application Note
A piston rod anti-rotation system must be used. If the piston rod is not rigidly fixed to an external component, flange, or other device that prevents rotation, the cylinder must be specified in the anti-rotation version to ensure proper operation and prevent mechanical damage.
